Meet Ruth!
Ruth is a highly experienced qualified teacher with 30 years experience teaching in both mainstream and SEN primary schools.
She has spent 15 years as a music specialist working with students with special needs and as a result has gained excellent knowledge of the use of one-to-one intensive interaction through music.
About
What do we do?
Music with Ruth provides a range of musical activities for children, particularly for those below school age. These are also suitable and inclusive for children with additional needs such as Autism and PMLD. All musical sessions are developed in a child-led way, both in groups and with individuals.
Our adult activities include community singing, delivering music in residential and care homes, and working with adults with special needs in a music centred environment.
Making Music Accessible
Ruth has run the music classes for the Seaford Downs Syndrome and Special Needs Support Group for 10 years.
Music is so important for early development, and Ruth wants music making to be inclusive and attainable for everyone!
Bringing People Together
She knows the power of singing together, that it makes us happy and can strengthen our minds and bodies.
She wants people to enjoy music without worrying about their singing voice or the notes or a performance
